A time for reintroduction

I realized when I opened up Blogger today that in the past month, I've gained almost 100 new followers! Holy shmoly that's pretty amazing, guys! I also realized that it's been AGES since I did a sort of introductory post.

Sure, you can head over to my About Me and read up on me there a little bit, but those pictures are in serious need of some update - and I've never been the snappiest at writing about myself. Plus, that's just a little snippet. If you want to know more about some of my passions, you can look into what I've been writing lately. Or maybe you want to know what I've been crushing on lately.

But just in case you're not much of a link clicker - though you should probably check out one of my favorite posts - my comic book heels! - I figured it'd be fun to tell you a little more about myself here.

Sometimes, I like to pretend I'm a model. I've recently developed an unrelenting love for dresses.

I am a born and raised Midwestern girl and while there's no denying the country in me (I LOVE me some country music. I've seen Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert in concert and am going to see Rascal Flatts in a couple weeks!) I have a heart that is starting to ache for travel.

Part of this is probably attributed to the fact that I'm going into my senior year of college. And after I graduate, well - the world is my oyster, right? There are so many things I want to see and do. After all, I've never even been on an airplane! Crazy, right?

In my heart of hearts, I am a writer - a creator. I want to imagine worlds and make others believe in them. I want my words to change someone's life. If I can accomplish that with even one person, my heart will be satisfied at the end of the day. Though, of course I dream about becoming a bestselling, critically-acclaimed author and having my books turned into movies. What writer doesn't?

My passion and creative energy often finds its hold in music. There's just something about it that can really get me lost inside the worlds I'm creating. Sometimes my characters have soundtracks. It's okay, I'm a little jealous of them myself. I wish my world had a soundtrack.

My favorite color is purple, but I love color in general. It makes the world so vibrant. I wish I had design chops, but I don't have them like some of my favorite blogging girls Katie and Kristen. So I stick with the content.

I have had my fair share of doubts - I struggle with them every day. Self-love is an ongoing journey for me, but I truly believe in the beauty that this world holds. I see the potential in everyone else - I'm just working on seeing it in myself more.

My biggest obsession is a certain crooner by the name of Michael Buble.

Yeah that's one of my crappy concert pictures. Yeah I've seen him twice in concert. Yeah I plan on seeing him a million more times. He's my favorite artist. Hands down. You'll hear that a lot around here if you stick around long enough ;).

But poor Michael, he has to battle for my heart with this guy:

Sometimes when you turn 20, you have princess-themed birthday parties. And sometimes, if you're really lucky, your boyfriend of 5 and 1/2 years will put a princess hat on and take a picture with you. Sometimes. This is from last year, and now you've officially met the boyfriend. He'll be on here a decent amount, so get used to that handsome face.

Are all these hair colors confusing you yet? Well right now I'm a redhead. But before that I went dark for ages. And someday maybe I'll be brave enough to show you what my natural hair color is. If I can ever find a picture that shows it.

Curious as to what I look like... now? Probably the most recent pictures taken of me were some headshots that I can use for the book jacket.

There you are! So hey to all the new peeps, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for those who have stuck around! I love each and every one of you followers, so here's a giant HUG from me.

If you ever want to get to know me better - I love e-mails! Or tweets. I love them both. You'll find my social media icons at the top of the page, and you can e-mail me at lattesandloveblog@gmail.com . I better hear from some of you!

Happy Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by. :)

  1. Hiya!

Congrats on all the new followers - you will have to tell me how you did that when you get a chance! Great to get to know you a bit better - love me some country music (Brad Paisley is just divine ...)

The way you feel about Michael Buble is how I feel about Josh Groban. He is the love of my life and I would watch him (and listen to him) all day and all night if I could!

Have a good rest of your week!

  2. Hi! I'm popping on over from the Return the Favor Hop from Yours Truly.

Your blog definitely caught my eye...because we have the same name! Albeit I spell my name Torrie, but still - that is pretty dang close! I've met one other "Torrie/Torie/Tori/Tory" in my life and it was a girl who spelled it Tori.

I'm looking forward to reading more about your adventures =)

    Torrie!
