Today, I wanna share another of those lovely ladies taking up the very top of my sidebar with you. Chelsea, who blogs over at Adventures with my Enemy Melanoma, is not only an incredibly strong woman, but also a wonderfully impassioned one. Did you all get a chance to read the guest post she did last week? Hint: You should go read it if you haven't.
For starters, how powerful is it that she chose this picture to show everyone that melanoma isn't just getting a mole removed. It can be so much worse and so much more debilitating.
Why do you blog?
In those 30 days after hearing the dreaded words that I have cancer, I had a hard time talking to my friends and family. They knew, but it wasn't something I openly discussed. I put on a smile and pretended like everything was OK. Then when I learned that the cancer had spread, the anger and fear began taking its toll on me. Because I have always enjoyed writing, my mom suggested I start a blog. Honestly, I never expected people to read it. I wanted a quick and easy way to update everyone I love without having to tell the same story 50 times. Not only has it been a huge comfort to me, it has provided others with an insight into a melanoma diagnosis. The way I see it, if this experience teaches someone else how dangerous their tan is, well, then it is worth it.
What are your favorite and least favorite things about blogging?
Oh, I love blogging! When I say that it has been the best type of therapy, that truly is an understatement. Also, I love the connections I have made with strangers around the world. I have met the most amazing people who I never would have run into in my normal day-to-day life. The downside to blogging? I haven't found it yet.
What are some of your hobbies outside of blogland?
I am always reading something--whether it is a book, a magazine, or the back of a Starbucks cup! I recently fell in love with a yoga studio and look forward to that hour and a half of Chelsea time each week. Besides that, I enjoy living each day to the fullest...whatever that means on that particular day!
Tell me a little bit about the Chelsea behind the blog - some fun facts we might not know from your blog.
I was the New Member Mom for my sorority Alpha Sigma Tau for 3 semesters.I fully enjoyed my one semester as Social Chair for AST. (This girl knows how to throw a party!)If you think working in a restaurant is for uneducated folks, try it for one month. I still miss the people I met & the money I made during college! (PS--Overtip your excellent server. She works hard for her money.)
That might be the end of the Q&A, but you better believe that's not all this awesome girl is up to! Chelsea has been invited to speak at The Skin Cancer Foundation's Fall Gala in NYC! How awesome is that?? Read about it here. She's promised to post tons of pictures. But before she takes that killer opportunity, she'll have to do a 3-month-follow up at the hospital and spend another stay in the Chemo Suite.
In case Chelsea hasn't hammered it home enough, guys, take care of your skin!
Oh, and go give this girl some love.

Wow, what a strong strong strong woman with such a positive attitude. I can't imagine how scary going through all this would be.
