Let me explain a little further. From Saturday night at midnight all the way to the last minutes of my birthday Sunday night, I was surrounded with people I loved. I received so many birthday well-wishes, got some great presents, and was smacked right in the face (not to mention the heart) with just how much my friends and family mean to me, not to mention how great they are.
The "shenanigan" part of these celebrations began Saturday night at midnight with a good ole' fashioned bar hop. That's right, I hopped bars. If you need an example of how good my friends are, when we marched up to a lounge that required cover, one of my friends/roommates immediately informed the bouncer, quite loudly, that it was my birthday and asked if I had to pay... because it was my birthday. I think she said it a few extra times to make sure the bouncer understood. Well, I didn't have to pay cover, so there you have it - my friends rock.
Still not convinced the celebrations were of epic proportions? Don't worry, I'll convince you ;)
Here are me and the roomies all ready to go out - I just knew that my birthday was going to be the perfect occasion to break out my Aztec print skirt. It was so comfortable - perfect for a night out or a hot date. I will definitely be wearing that puppy again!
We cheersed and headed out to the bars, but not before me getting pictures with some of my favorite people! One of the girls from work got me that beautiful crown, the sash, and the shot necklace. It was so nice to see some awesome friends who I don't get to see very often as well as the people I love to see almost every day!
As the night went on, silly faces were made, hats were stolen, and my friends pretended they had to puke. I personally think their faces are billboard worthy. I laugh so hard every time I see them.
The boy watched out for me all night and my friends went a little camera crazy. We all had a blast and we were all just fine the next morning. That is what I call a successful 21st birthday party.
But wait, the fun's not over!
Sunday evening my family had my favorite dinner (cheesy chicken - I was too focused on eating it to take pictures, sorry!) and my little cousin thought taping all the birthday hats together - and to his face - was a good idea. I agree - it was a MARVELOUS idea!
Annd today I got some super awesome presents in the mail from a couple of my awesome bloggy friends - Breanna and Bree (baha, I didn't even realize that until just now. Apparently I have a type when it comes to bloggy friends?) They both sent me some amazing stuff and I have to say, the presents just reminded me of how well these girls know me. I wanna send a HUGE thank you to you ladies, you are TOO sweet to me!
I also got Zoolander from the boy - he knows me oh so well. I've been trying to find that movie on DVD for ages and for whatever reason I either couldn't find it or wasn't willing to pay for it so I was so glad to get that - but I'm in the dark about the OTHER present he got me and it's driving me crazy.
Fun fact about me: I LOVE surprises, but I have the hardest time not spoiling them for myself. I kept telling him "Tell me what the other thing is!" and he would start to tell me and I would go "NO! NO! I lied, I don't think I want to know - DON'T TELL ME!" It's a problem.
And does anyone remember when I tweeted about this outfit? Well Grandma bought me the jeans for my birthday so now I have the whole thing!
Whew! That was quite the post, huh? Well, now you've seen my 21st birthday bash. I loved every second of it, and the best part is all the awesome people I got to celebrate it with. Seriously so thankful for my friends and family, not to mention all of YOU! You all helped make my birthday so special and I seriously appreciate that. :)
What did you do this Labor Day weekend?
